California has had it's effect on me. At least before California, the following distractions were not ardent passions.

Dancing

I have been a dabbler in dance. I regularly engage in the following types of dance: Square Dance with the Cal Aggie Square Dancers on Mondays; Irish Dance at the Starry Plough in Berkeley, occasionally when I skip square dancing; Irish Dance at Mark's House every other Wednesdays; English Country Dance Practices with the Hyde Park Dancers on Thursdays; and Victorian Ballroom Dancing every other month at Gaskell's.

Swimming

This isn't quite a California effect, I did swim both in High School, and occasionally in college to keep in shape. Although, I have previously swum, it was somewhat new swimming coached workouts through the Davis Aquatic Masters. I'm rather excited because I am swimming close to the times that I swam in high school.

Hiking

Some of my more memorable hikes out here include: The Lost Coast along the Pacific Ocean and hiking to the top Half Dome at Yosemite.

Cooking

I describe my cooking style as barbarian, i.e. I'm relatively untrained in the actual way in which one should cook. Cooking barbarian style is very freeing, because I do not need to worry about whether I am cooking it correctly. My favorite foods to cook include: Italian, Mexican, Chinese, and Indian. I am rather fond of cooking and find it as a convenient way in which to relax. I enjoy creating my own recipes. I have a couple of recipes online.

Writing

I enjoy creative writing, and often use it to take a break from what I am currently doing. Some of my writing is available online. Enjoy.
